Computer Engineer · AI Systems Builder · Operator Mindset

I was born and raised in Cleveland. I grew up around hard work, local hustle, and seeing what it looks like when someone really knows how to build with their hands. From computer engineering to AI systems, that is still the lane I’m in now.

Who is Vanwayne Chaney Jr.?

I’m Wayne. I’m a software engineer, AI builder, and systems-minded operator from Cleveland, Ohio. I build AI workflows, digital tools, and business systems, but the real point of this page is simpler than that. It is to show you who I am, what shaped me, and why I work the way I do.

I care about building real relationships with real people, especially business owners and operators who are trying to tighten up their systems, save time, and stop losing money to sloppy follow-up or messy operations.

Through VC2, I focus on practical AI and operator tools that actually help. This is the background behind that: Cleveland roots, engineering discipline, a real interest in systems, and a builder mindset that comes from both work and life.

Hey — I'm Wayne's assistant. What do you want to know about him or what he builds?

Mission: build useful systems for people doing real work.

I want the work to feel personal, practical, and local. Good systems should help good people move faster, follow up better, and run cleaner businesses.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, and I grew up around people who worked hard and had to figure things out without making a big show out of it. That shaped me more than anything else.

My father worked hard and did all the trades: electrical, plumbing, roofing, whatever needed to get done. Helping around that world taught me early that real work matters, details matter, and if you want a better future you have to build it.

I also grew up around my father's small real estate business, which meant I met a lot of local contractors and saw how much work happens behind the scenes. That stayed with me. It is a big reason I care about helping local businesses now.

Cleveland is home. My family is from here. I grew up on Browns games even when we lost, and I still remember how crazy it felt seeing the Cavs win in 2016 and the whole city come alive. So when I say I want to start local, I mean that for real.

03
From Cleveland roots to Miami University engineering
Miami University gave me the technical foundation, but the base layer started earlier in Cleveland: work ethic, responsibility, and the habit of taking real problems seriously.
04
Discovering AI and using it every day
AI clicked for me in school during a final project where we were automating computer vision for a police station and seeing how it could help real people. That was the moment it stopped feeling abstract and started feeling meaningful.
05
Engineering plus business thinking
My MBA at Cleveland State adds the operator layer: strategy, priorities, operations, and how to turn systems into assets instead of random one-off projects.
06
Certifications
Microsoft AI-901. Anthropic Academy: AI Fluency Framework & Foundations, Claude 101, Introduction to Agent Skills, Introduction to Subagents, Introduction to Model Context Protocol, MCP Advanced Topics, AI Capabilities and Limitations, Teaching AI Fluency, Introduction to Claude Cowork. I use certifications to reinforce real shipped work, not replace it.
What I Build
Websites, tools, and AI systems

I build websites, internal tools, workflows, automations, and AI systems that solve actual business problems, especially for local operators who need more follow-through and less friction.

Content & Education
Teaching through real builds

I publish content around AI workflows, system design, and practical usage so people can get to know how I think and see these tools in real day-to-day execution.

How I Think
Leverage over noise

I like systems that create compounding value: faster follow-up, cleaner operations, better decisions, and assets that keep paying back long after the build is done.

Experience, content, and authority.

The signal is a mix of real engineering work, Cleveland roots, public education, active certifications, and constant build output across AI systems and operator tools.

2023 — Present
IT Applications Programmer
Progressive Insurance · Remote · Mayfield Heights, Ohio

Production software work, live-system support, business-facing application development, and the day-to-day discipline of building things that have to hold up.

2022
Software Engineer Intern
Rockwell Automation · Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Hands-on engineering work inside a real industrial technology environment, with interface improvements, recurring reporting, and business-driven software tasks.

2021 — 2023
Engineer Tutor + Technical Communicator
Miami University · Oxford, Ohio

Tutored math, computer science, and engineering topics. Good practice for breaking technical ideas down clearly, which still shows up in how I teach AI and systems today.

VC2, YouTube, and Operator Builds
Independent build work

Websites, AI workflows, internal tools, real estate calculators, educational content, and system experiments that turn into products, assets, and client-side leverage for ambitious people trying to build a better future.

How I help and why people work with me.

The mix is simple: engineering discipline, active AI implementation, public teaching, certifications, and a personal approach rooted in real connection.

Background
  • Computer Engineering Degree Strong technical foundation from Miami University

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner Cloud fundamentals and infrastructure context
  • AI Certifications In Progress Continuing to deepen the AI and cloud side with formal validation
Content
  • YouTube Tutorials Practical content on AI use, systems, workflows, and real execution
  • Public Build Mode Teaching from experiments, shipped systems, and hands-on use instead of theory dumps
  • Daily AI Usage AI is part of my actual workflow, not just something I talk about online
  • VC2 Brand The professional lane for AI systems, tools, and operator education with a local-first relationship mindset
What I Help With
  • AI Workflows & Prompt Systems Assistants, operator tools, and reusable execution flows
  • Websites & Landing Pages Clean pages built to convert, explain, and capture action
  • Internal Tools & Automations Systems that remove manual work and tighten execution
  • Digital Products Templates, calculators, and tools that turn knowledge into assets
Work Style
  • Small Number Of Serious Clients I prefer focused work with people who have ambition, want to push themselves, and are serious about building a better future
  • ROI First The best build is the one that saves time, captures revenue, or reduces bad decisions fast
  • Operator Mindset Clear scope, clean execution, and useful outputs over hype and noise
  • Local Connection I want people to feel like they know who they are working with, not like they are hiring some faceless internet AI guy

If you want to work with someone local, practical, and systems-minded, let’s talk.

I work with a small number of serious clients on websites, AI workflows, operator tools, and scoped system builds. If there is a real bottleneck to fix, we start there and build the highest-ROI move first.
